One thing and another

I've finished writing my novel, Rule Three and I'm promoting it!

It's the story of the struggle of an English schoolteacher trying to free her father from a death-sentence in a repressive African republic, and how she finds love, and becomes embrolied in an international power struggle on the way.

I started the book about ten years ago - it was something I always wanted to do - but gave up about a third of the way through because I was stuck and because other things cropped up.

Then recently an old friend said she was thinking of writing a novel and immediately I felt sadness that I'd given up my dream with so little struggle.

So this year I finished it. I just couldn't put it down - (I needed to know what happened next!) and wrote a huge chunk while on holiday in France where my wife kindly did all the driving so I could tap away on a laptop.
