realise that using
any one of a number of cost-free, open-source software (OSS-ware)
office packages will save your company the
purchase costs and licence fees for your office systems - including
word
processing, spreadsheet, drawing, presentation and database.
Quality
Modern OSS-ware is so good and user-friendly
you'll
wonder why everyone doesn't use it all the time. And amazingly,
it's perfectly legal to run as many copies as you like for your
business or personal use, at absolutely no licence fee or purchase
costs
whatsoever. Updates are free too. You can even have the
source code if you want it.
Compatibility
And it's compatible with Windows, Linux and
Macintosh. You don't have to change your operating system or the
Microsoft file formats you're familiar with - you can continue
exchanging documents with others still using traditional suites.
We use it for everything. Many governments are coming to the same
conclusion.
Resistance
If there really are no catches, why don't all
organizations use OSS for their office needs?
